Naramata, 2024

This renovation to a Naramata orchard house takes a neglected building and reimagines it as one side of a sheltering enclosure. A new garage with second floor guest suite frames a courtyard, where a pool, shade structures and outdoor shower animate a partially sunken grotto. Here outdoor activities are sheltered from wind and sun, while staying open to views of Okanagan Lake. The original house is given a low profile roofline, vaulted ceilings, and a super-efficient building envelope, along with new windows allowing panoramic views of the valley.
