Askew’s Salmon Arm serves as Case Study

The Askew’s Food Store in Salmon Arm continues to gain attention for its innovative use of wood products. The Canadian Wood Council has just published a Case Study on Wood in Commercial Buildings, which examines how the project was able to source lumber for its 32,000 square foot roof from 5 mills in the local area, and use advanced engineering to fabricate box beams to provide structure and finish in one component. At the same time it was feeding the local economy, and building a culture of wood in the region.
