Landform pitches in with planting at the Okanagan Lake (kɬúsx̌nítkʷ ) Fish Passage

Landform staff joined 220 community volunteers to plant native species such as Saskatoon, willow, Oregon grape and chokecherry shrubs along the new fish passage from  sq̓awsitkʷ, Okanagan River into kɬúsx̌nítkʷ Okanagan Lake. The shrubs will provide habitat cover and shade for the salmon that can now freely swim back into their historical spawning territory.

As well as helping out with an important habitat restoration project, Landform staff and other volunteers toured the passage mechanics and learned about the many Okanagan Nation Alliance- led fish and wildlife enhancement projects.
